When I found out that John Hill not only sold Tabletpcs, but was a Paramedic, I could not help but ask him to write a few words. "I started as a volunteer EMT in 1985 and became a career paramedic in 1989. I still do it full-time at night and run Allegiance Technology during the day. Why do both? Because I love both jobs – and I can sleep at the station where we only get about three calls a night."

Devmar Home Health is a nursing agency that provides in-home care for their clients. Several months ago, the nurses at Devmar made the leap from paper and pencil to Tablet PCs. They are using hardware from both Motion Computing and TabletKiosk to capture information and, via their software, submit it to the insurer.
The nurses are only issued tablets, bump cases and broadband air cards - no keyboards. Everything they do is with the pen.

"...the plumber arrived at his home in a GPS enabled van and carried a Tablet PC into his home. He used the PC to order parts, document his work and present an electronic invoice. My colleague who sent me the picture asked, "Why isn't healthcare more like this?" My flippant answer was, "Probably because these days that plumber is making more money than your family physician!"
