Durabook Medical Tablet PC
"While Motion Computing’s C5 Medical Tablet PC was the first company to release a medical tablet PC, several other competitors are coming to market. Panasonic has released the H1, Fujistu has the Esprimo MA (not released in the U.S. yet) and others are being announced.

At CES 2009, I had the opportunity to see and touch the Durabook T01Y, a new medical tablet PC based on the Intel Health architecture. Durabook is better known for their line of rugged notebook and tablet PCs and they have brought that design expertise to their version of a medical tablet.

The T01Y has a bright 10.4” touchscreen display. The pre-production unit I saw at the show exhibited some vectoring but I’ve been told that this won’t be a factor in the product unit that is expected to start shipping soon. It is lighter than the Motion tablet, weighing in at just 2.8 pounds which is 3 ounces lighter. The white plastic casing doesn’t seem as rugged as the Motion C5 but I’m told that the unit has been drop tested from 4 feet. While the Motion is IP54 rated, the T01Y is IP64 rated which means just a slightly higher rating for being dust resistant."
